Default Lotus, dragonflies, and birds

I have a new page up showing the blooming lotus in the largest bed in the USA at Echo Park (10 shots) as well as another 10 shots with coot babies, a duckling, a pied-bill grebe, and a couple of dragonflies.

Absolutely awesome, Ron! The flowers are beautiful! The little babys are so cute! That camera sure takes sharp, wonderful photos!

Default Yep... pixels are most certainly not everything.

Image clarity is important to me. This is a major reason why I traded "down" to the D1h (the others being shooting speed, buffer depth, better high-ISO capabilities and lower noise at ISO 200).

Thanks for the compliment, Purrcat.

Ron, superb shots. Particularly like the reflected light on the Pied-billed Grebe under the Lotus and the first dragon fly, and of course the babies are darling!

Default Thanks Christie!

I shot one of each with fill flash, the other without... with the Grebe, using the fill flash allowed me to get a little cleaner shot as well as get the actual colors of the bird, but of course working without it allowed me to preserve the light. Personally, I prefer to preserve the light, but I have been working both ways lately for obvious reasons
