Hard time getting flight shots using 10D and 100-400L. Camera just can't focus fast enough.Hoping 400f5.6 will improve things.







This guy came pretty close to me. This is almost full-frame shot.

Really :!: nice shots of a bird I've never seen.

Have you ever tried manual focus?

It takes some getting used to, but ultimately will proably give you better results, at least if they're flying directly at you.

Nice shots bobbyz. These birds are very tough to expose properly, I wouldn't even attempt it in flight. YOu did a good job on these.

Thanks everyone.

Dave, they fly too fast. My cam only goes 3fps (with AI servo mode which doesn't do what it supposed to do) and I needed atleast 5fps. Manual focus won't even enter the equation.
