These shots were taken with the 50-500 and Rebel combo. It's situations like this where the zoom capabilities of this lens become invaluable:

First drip

Abandoned

Nasty photographer

Gentle Nudge

Doin' it on my own now

For our friends in other parts of the world.......the bird is called "The Canada Goose". They are protected here so we have millions of them. They are beautiful, and large, and leaves big slimy "messes" in the parks.
Normcar, if you or Tom from Point Peelie have a photo of these geese in flight formation you could post them underneath. That is the other amazing thing about these birds.
Beautiful shots!! I haven't been able to get any this close or this clear. Great work!

Nice shots Normcar,

I like the 4th one best. There is some real drama in this shot. Look at that intensity in the adults eye and the slight out of focus look to the baby makes it look even softer and cuter.

Thanks all for your very nice compliments and comments. I appreciate it very much indeed.

Zoomn, the trusty old 50-500 came through on these. I couldn't have gotten half of them without the zoom range of this great lens. Sure glad I've got it back. :-)
