Hi All,

Just wanted to share this image of a male Gambel's Quail that was calling from a brush pile just outside the dining room window this morning. The call is described as saying, "Girls!". This male is actually paired with a leucistic, or partial albino, female. She tends to stay well hidden.

The bird was photographed at a distance of 25 feet, or just under 8 meters. Camera is an FZ10 with the Pana LTZ10 1.5 teleconverter at 18x optical magnification. I cropped the image about 20%, reduced size and resolution, no other pp.

I like it. I can never get this guys/gals to come out in the open. The only time I saw a quail, I had my FZ1 in the wrong mode and I got were OOF shots.
