While hiking this afternoon looking for Bird Photo Opportunities, I ran across what may be a Gopher Snake on the concrete path. Fortunately I had my 70 200 lens allowing me plenty of distance. Although I don't think they are poisonous, it sure catches your attention when you first see it.

nice picture!!!! really clean and sharp. snake is nonpoisonous.

Fortunately, this snake moved very slowly across the hot concrete giving me time to set up. I also made some levels adjustments and a tiny bit of USM.Thanks for commenting.

Really nice shot Thomas. Tack sharp and great contrast. Catching the tongue
flicking out is an added plus.

Lovely shot, Thomas, so what if it doesn't have wings, it's got a neat tongue and pretty beady colors.
