Spotted this guy again at Collier Lake after chasing after warblers, etc. in
the bushes surrounding the lake. I mention the lake's name because it is
listed on the Susquehanna River Birding and Wildlife Trail. For anyone
interested, you can check out the site here:

Anyway, back to my heron.
all shots 20D, 100-400L, ISO400

"I guess it is time for lunch!"
365mm, f/5.6, 1/2000 sec

"Mmmm, is there anything here?"
365mm, f/6.3, 1/2500 sec

"How about over here?"
365mm, f/5.6, 1/2000 sec

"A yes, lunch!!!!!!!!"
365mm, f/6.3, 1/1000 sec

"GULP!!!!"

These guys are quite skittish. You did good. I like the low angle in #2 & #3.

Very fine shooting and play-by-play woodmeister, extremely entertaining series.

Thanks guys for checking out the pics and your comments. I was suprised
that he let me get as close as I did, as it was wide open and no cover
what so ever. I guess my stalking technique is improving.

Watching this guy was really entertaining! He was fishing there for close to
half an hour until I tried to push my luck and got into his "safe zone".
