upyonder, really nice shots of a beautiful bird. the last 2 shots are abit bright. from the looks of them, i think you can get some nice detail out of them without sacrificng the correctly exposed parts. how close were you and what equipment did you use??

Nice shots. I agree with Dennis, they are bit over-exposed.

Dennis - These guys are pretty close that you can use 200mm lens. But there are guys using 600mm, they must get real closeups of the babies.

oh!!! oh!!! oh!!! to be that close!!!! though, i am starting to be able to get a bit closer to the big birds. they don't always fly off if i get within 50 or 60 yards of them.

Overexposed....that's what I thought also. Next time I need to pay more attention to exposure. I forgot my monopod and that 100-300mm lens is an arm buster. I was down at the Rookery today and was amazed at some of the equipment there.

I want to try and get back there next week sometime - WITH a monopod!!!
