This picture, and the following were caught whilst on holiday, the whole time the two Swans were baiting and proving their strengths towards each other until the inevitable happened, but by the second week the swan that seemed to be the weekest claimed this part of the river and moved his partner and 7 signets into their new area.

Very pretty photos of a lovely subject. This is a very tough bird to expose properly, especially when the background is dark, but you have done a decent job of working the problem out.

Thanks for your comments, yes i could study this bird for hours and have taken heaps of shots before getting the exposure right, but it was a good lesson! and it has helped alot as only being an amateur and still getting to know my Canon 20D i have learned alot through this photo session.
