Well, I know it's not a great shot, but I'm just really excited that I finally got a picture of a bald eagle. It was pretty far away, and shot at ISO 200, (which on the Kodak DX6490 is the point you start to get really annoyed by the noise)

Hi Tom,

Wondering where you go the shot? Around Point Pelee? I have yet to see a Bald Eagle in Southern Ontario. Managed a few during a quick business trip to Vancouver a couple of months ago. Still would like to find them closer to home. I was in the Cambridge area a few weeks ago, and noticed some signs in parks that they were closed during certain times in a bid to protect over-wintering BEs.

cheers,

jim

Hi Jim;

I managed to catch this fellow at a marina about two miles from the Point Pelee Gates. (I live one mile from the gates). I've seen these birds only a couple of times in our area, so I felt pretty lucky to get any shot at all. This is a pretty severe crop of a distant shot.

I'll be in B.C. I August and hopefully get some more (better) shots.

Regards,
