A newly fledged bird, very confiding. At one point it sat on my shoe!

Nicely done, is that a hard one to capture?

It looks like it needs a bit more contrast... it seems a bit light, but it doesn't look like its a brightness problem.

A hard one to capture?No, just a very lucky one. I was out for a walk when Iencountered this young bird, and in 20 yaers of birdwatching I've not come across one soconfiding. I think the other lucky break was that it was feeding on the trimmed edge of some tall grass so I was able to get close enough without noise. The photo was taken using my 28-105 zoom at 105mm on my Nikon D100, so I was only about a couple of feet away.

Yourcomment on the contrast. It looks fineas a print but comes over a little softer on the monitor. I did apply a little Photoshop CS Shadows/Highlights filter as the lighting was a little awkward and I'm willing to admit I may have overdone it. I've attached a revised version without the application of that filter.
