Default Egret U-Turn (68K)

This egret decided suddenly to turn around and go back, right about the time I snapped the shutter.

Very nice shot - bit funny right! Shame it's not totally sharp, would have been a blast.

Thanks for the comments... it was my first day out with the D60 after trading up from a D30. Yes this image is a little less sharp than it should be. Seems to be head movement that messes it up more than focus, since the feet seem to be pretty sharp. It's amazing how fast individual parts of a bird move; shutter speeds that are completely adequate to stop a race car in motion can leave amazing softness in a pic of a moving bird.

That is an extraordinary photo... It would make a great painting or sculpture, it is so full of movement. Nice work!
