Taken from a blind using 10D and 400mmf5.6 on a tripod. I might have added 1.4xTC, don't remember.

Beautiful, bobby, and the nice thing about that lens is that it takes the 1.4x so well that one doesn't need to worry about a difference. The first 4 are slightly less light than the bottom ones; I think they are all great but the exposure on the top 4 is just slightly better IMO, but the difference is next to nil.

Great stuff! I love the pose on the first one but the exposure on that second is just perfect.

These are some of the nicest quail shots I have seen.

Thanks everyone. It was getting dark and my 100-400L was in the bag so had to use the 400mm f5.6. These guys were moving fast and since they were quite close to me, I had hard time shooting through the bind as I had to move my lens from left to right & back to get some shots. I am happy they turned out well. Would have loved to get them in setting sun.
