Ran across this female Ring-necked Pheasant, Her head would pop up from the grass for a few secondsto see what I was up to then drop her head. Didn't spot the male but I'm sure he was near by. I've never gotten this close to one of these. They usually expload from the grass as I near and scare the heck out of me.

I've often heard the expresson "shy." (if for no other reason than because I se it myself) but in these images, she actually LOOKS shy!
