Got these photos yesterday. Went out to one location which is usually quite active,
but only spotted this one lonely song sparrow. Then I went over to another spot
and there was a lot of activity in the bushes, so I just sat down and waited for the
little guys to hop out in the open.

All shots 20D, 100-400L, ISO 400

Song Sparrow
Tamron 1.4X SP, 518mm, f/8, 1/400sec

The sun got dimmer when I got to the second location, so I couldn't really use
the 1.4X, but really didn't need it.

Catbird
365mm, f/5.6, 1/250sec
This guy is saying, "Get that branch out of the way!!!"

Chickadee
Been a while since I've been able to get a photo of one of these guys.
365mm, f/5.6, 1/500sec

All of these are really nice Woodmeister. The one of the chickadee is my favorite and that is one hard bird for me to catch.

Real good shots, woodmeister, and my favorite in this series is the chickadee as well. One of my favorite birds just because up here it's around when all others abandon me :-)

I must be going blind or have cabin fever but I see no images in the post.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to view and your comments. I really aqppreciate it.

For quite some time, chickadees have been tough for me. Not so much photographing them
but spotting them. I have been hearing them in the woods all the time. I think they scattered
for the breeding season. As of late though, it appears they are beginning to "herd"
again and beginning to follow some regular routes.

Peter - Not sure what's wrong, show up fine for me. Maybe the server was down at that time.

Must have been, they are visible today:!:

Very nice and sharp portraits.

woodmeister, some really nice shots. it seems most like the chickadee, it is really sharp and a good pose. but, other than the branch being in the way, i like the catbird for a couple of reasons. i like the pose with it's mouth open and also they are one of the most difficult birds for me to get.
