Got these photos walking a trail yesterday in a nearby state gameland. The female towhee
was the first female I've seen out in the open since last year (other than dashing from
one bush to another). The house wren was spotted near a nesting box along the trail.
You couldn't see the little ones, but you could sure here them when mom showed up
with some food. The first shot was a split second before she hopped into the box. What
I found interesting is how the body started in motion (reason for blur), but the head was
still stationary.

All shots 20D, 100-400L

375mm, f/8, 1/250sec, ISO 400 (note: used 420EX flash on this one)

Tamron 1.4X SP, 510mm, f/9, 1/250sec, ISO 800 (no flash)

Great captures Woodmeister! The ones of the Wrenare exceptional. Its very hard to get this little guy stationary long enough to dial in. I actualy like themotion blur in the second photo as it adds a sence of action.

Terrific shots woodmeister. I especially like the Wrens. I've yet to capture a decent photo of those in my area...either they're too fast or I'm too old and slow...probably both. Nice work. Woody
