It was cold and windy today, Hubby and I went out for a walk near the wind farm on the south coast about 7 miles from home. These guys normally hang around Forrest areas so I was surprised to see them flying around in the scrubby hills of the coast. They are only found in a radius of about 350ks or 217 miles from here. They fetch BIG money overseas and often people are caught trying to get them out of the country at our airports.

Yes, very nice. These birds seem to have quite a flamboyant personality.

Very nice shots of an amazing looking bird Julie. The flight shots are really good too. It seems that you can post a different kind of bird every day. Lucky you.....

Good job

Gads! Beautiful birds. The 3rd, 4th and last shots are wonderful. Go get more. This has got to be one of the coolest different and uniquebirds I've seen in a long time.

Thanks Norm, I was pretty excited to see these birds. Hoping to get some better shots next time, dull day and bad lighting did not help but just to get them was pretty cool.
