Last night I posted some still photos of Wood Storks. During that same outing I got some flight shots of Egrets that I am posting tonight. Hope you all enjoy seeing them. All were shot at ISO-400, Aperture Priority at f5.6 with shutter speeds varying from 1/3200 to 1/5000 on the ones with the sky as background and from 1/640 to 1/1000 on the ones with trees and woods in the background. All of these were taken with Partial metering and Exp Comp of -1.3.

20D, 100-400L, 1.4xTC hand held.

1. Cropped, resized, levels and FM.

Great shots, the first ones with the blue backgrounds look a little dark, perhaps they could be lightened a little

Nice shots Houston. I agree, the ones with sky bg look quite dark on my LCD. I just calibrated this monitor but they still look dark. The ones with trees in the bg look better.

What I have seen is that I don't need much -EV when using partial metering when shooting egrets. I do use RAW btw.
