You completely fooled me. It's not easy to get lucky with an all white bird like that...:lol:

You know what I meant...

The image was taken from a sand dune high view point which made the background look interesting - especially when this guy was flying into you rather than away from which is what they normally would :-) :lol: :G

Sometime one just can't planned ahead when opportunities knock (my other lucky shot):

... I finally got it !!!

I also used the camera on manual with the exposure set from an external incident meter (planning on the sunlight not changing). Shooting black birds and then white birds against varying backgrounds (wetlands/sky) is less difficult this way IMO - Yeap it would have turned out different if the camera was set on Auto!

:-) Yes! This kind of luck happens to those who are prepared for it....

But your post struck a chord with me. I recently got a "lucky shot" - A Black Capped Night Heron popped out of a marsh, and flew right over my head - I just lifted the camera and shot - It was set on manual, but I really got lucky...:lol:
