Man, aint Ithe handsome dude!!

This is an Olive sunbird [I presume a "sap-sucker", Dave ??] Most of the male sunbirds in the region are very pretty/handsome, the females are quite drab and grey in comparison, however, this is a male Olive sunbird, a "not so good looking" fella, just finished his bath andchecking himself outin the "mirror"

A Black-Collared Barbet [Thenamers of birds sometimes get the thing wrong in my opinion, the thing which stands out with this chap is his RED head, yet the collar gets the name??]

You have some very nice pics of some strange looking birds and sometimes they're even stanger because of their name. But my favorite is the 'thing'. I like the pose as well and it's a really good photo.

Hey Jake, great photo of the Olive sunbird. I'm sure there will be many good photos on your return - heard your goal is 1000 pics a day?

Oh, you outdid yourself with this post.
:!::!::!:

Awesome shots

These are really great pictures! Most of these birds of course live in Brooklyn. I simply haven't got around to the zoo yet.

Most of the mammals appear regularly in my neighborhood in Manhattan on Saturday nights. Even so, on those occasions my hand shakes, and I never get good shots...
