Here is a bird I shot while at the Honolulu Zoo last week. This is a wild bird, not a captive zoo bird. We were sitting at a snack bar cooling off with some bottled water when this bird flew up and landed about ten feet from where we were sitting.

I don't know what kind of bird it is. It appears to be a young bird since it appears to still have some of its baby down plumage around the neck and breast.

Nikon D100, Sigma 28-70mm f2.8 lens, handheld.

It's some sort of Sparrow. Not enough showing to make an id, BUT there are probably less Sparrows in Honolulu than the States - maybe a local book can be of help?
