Nice shots mullen! Question, maybe its just my monitor, but the red on the head appears
somewhat paler than I have typically seen on these guys, was this really the case?

Good shots but a bit flashy. My guess is the lighter red is due to the flash.

Pale red head, flashy or whatever they're all still good pics and I vote #3 as Woodpecker of the Day. I like that one.

Looks like a high performance bird to me.

Beautiful shots.

And you didn't spend a fortune to get them (ie. hyper expensive camera and lens).
