Its spring here which means Im in for a whole new batch of visitors to my yard. This is one of a few of this breed (red capped parrot)that popped in this morning, they are a stunning bird, even better in real life. Im pretty sure this is the male, he had the bossy attitude of the male anyway.

I know someone will notice my editing error behind the head of this one, I had half finished it but got sidetracked and forgot to do the rest

Good capture of beautiful colors and a beautiful bird. I particularly like #2 and 4. As we move into winter here I will be looking forward to seeing more of your spring shots. It should help ease the cold.

I wish I got colorful visitors such as these in my backyard, Julie! All I ever get are a variety of LBBs (little brown birds :roll.

All of them are very good but the 1st, 2nd, and 4th really stand out. Good job!

Dave, I remember from when I was a kid roaming the green hills adjacent to the Hudson River in the Bronx (Riverdale) that there used to be quite a population of Monk Parrakeets in the forests of that green strip. If you want to photograph something at somewhat close to these you could try going up there. They might frequent other places in and around NY too by now...

Personally, I think some rambuncious kids grabbed a pale green bird and then colored it up with a variety of pastel chalks.

Lovely colors, nice capture. I like it.

I agree with the others here. I've had rain and clounds for a bit over a week straight... something this colorful is a sight for sore eyes.

Thanks for the comments, they were back this morning making a huge noise over the feeder, fighting and chasing off doves and the honey eaters who were just there to use the bird bath as they dont eat the seed:-)
