Below are shots of a Downy Woodpecker and Nuthatch that I got today using both 200/1.8 and 1.4x extender as well as the 70-200 with 1.4x extender. I was trying to set up a scene using available light and walnuts, where I'd put the nuts just where I wanted the birds to be. This was done especially with the Nuthatch shots below:

Great shots Norm. If I may ask, do you have a set up at home for these shots or do you just live in the woods a lot? Why did you choose walnuts? Ole

SOOOO! It's walnuts that Norm uses! Man, I use live crickets, which gives me two seconds before the crickets leave. Who knew?

Thanks for looking people, and I appreciate the comments very much.

Ole, these were shot at a campground near my home. I go out there for about an hour a few times a week and feed the birds. They are getting used to my presence now (or perhaps I should say, presents).
