These Oystercatchers are flocking up for migration. Wont see them again until march. Note that they are all looking off into space - They are looking at my asssistant, Chato the White Balance Dog (patent pending). All 120 pounds of him.

While I was told that you can't do wildlife photography with a dog, Chato, without any training, moves off at a tangent when he sees me shooting, and the birds, (no fools they) lock onto him, instead of me!

Chato likes birds, even so he used to catch then, playing catch and release, which didn't do their hearts any good. But I stopped that at an early age. On the other hand, he catches and eats crabs, and digs up clams, cracking them open like peanuts....

That is a Kuvasz. Considered basically untrainable, although others than myself have trained them. Although to be fair, the dogs attitude is that he has spent five years training ME, with little success.

They are Guard Dogs, but since they were originally used to guard animals, they can be quite friendly if socialised correctly. Chato is VERY friendly, yet retains his guard dog instincts.

Two weeks ago he disappeared for twenty minutes, and when he returned, we continued out walk. I came upon an old man sitting on the grassy road, bicycle by his side, looking really disorientated.

So I was concerned, and went up to him to ask if he was ok. He replied in a heavy Russian accent, "I am fine, I am fine, your dog tried to f^%$ me."

And if the last "animal" had a larger nose, I would say he's probably a white elephant :G
