Stunning photo! That majestic animal against that sky are awesome! You should be very proud of that one! Did you have to wait for him to move and face you or was it a fairly quick encounter?

The background of the photo is fog rising from the Madison River, backdropped by a 20-25 foot bank. The shot was taken in mid-September at 7:00 a.m., temp was approx 29 degrees. The blueish cast is the result of clear skies. Tthe sun light reflects off the sky onto the fog. It is not my intention to ever gain the attention of a bull elk during rut. Fortunate for me, he was responding to a tour group thatwas not so quite as they exited a bus.

Fantastic shot, RB!!!! Would you mind in the futer to post larger pics (800x600 or so) so we can see a bit more detail. This goes for those wonderful bald eagle shots too.
