I believe it's an Eastern Phoebe. I've never seen one near the feeder before. My bird book says they eat insects, but he was perched on my shephards hook where my feeder hangs, so I'm assuming he may eat seed in the cold weather when insects are scarce. This was one of those days where I knew it wasn't a great time for shooting, but I went against my instincts and went out anyway. It was in very bright sun and it was VERY windy, so I was surprised I got any decent shots at all.

Awesome! I've seen them at the feeders where I shoot occasionally, too.

Thanks Bmullen. I didn't actually see him go for any seed as my collies decided to join me and of course scared the bird away. My bird book implies that they are purely insectivorous, but I found a couple of websites that said they will sometimes eat berries and on occasion (when nothing else is available) will eat seeds/nuts. I just ordered some mealworms to hopefully attract this one again, plus a few moredifferent birds to the yard. We'll see how it goes.
