Gracie,

What kind of camera do you have? I use a Nikon but at ISO 400 my pictures are more grainy than I like. Yours look pretty darn good. Are you post processing the photos to remove this stuff?

Thanks,

Bill

Thanks! I have a Minolta 7D.At ISO 400 I sometimes get a little noise. Sometimes I don't mess with it, and at other times, I run it through a noiseware program. I believe these were run through the noiseware with the exception of the sparrow at the bottom. I had two versions of it, one run through the noiseware and one not, and I decided to keep the one that wasn't. With the busy background in the pic, the noiseware program doesn't do so well on it... tends toremove a little detail. So, unless, I'm mistaken and posted the wrong version, the sparrow has NOT been run through noiseware.

BTW, the noisewareprogram I use is NeatImage.I have theFREE version and it works well on auto most of the time.

The lens Iuse forthe birds is actually nothing special... it's a75-300mm, f/4.5-5.6 kit lens that came with my Maxxum 5 two years ago.

Do you ever come to good ole TN to visit your brother? Got some great photo opps up in east TN around the mountains. We went to Gatlinburg back in the end of October... unfortunately, the trees were still green. I'm located in very southern middle TN, not far from the Bama line.
