this little fella doesn't seem to care in the least that we've had 3 dry days in the last 6 weeks...



but this rather bedraggled Great Blue Heron looks like he cares a great deal! have you ever seen a bird look so disgusted? :lol:

It's a male Bufflehead Duck. He makes a living by eating mostly crustaceans and some fish. Nice shot of the little guy. I believe they are both the smallest and fastest Duck in North America.

Nice shots squirl. The Bufflehead drake has some nice colors on the head in the right light. I hand carved one of thosesome yearsago.



The heron looks spittin' mad:-)

here's one i got a couple of days ago in better light. you can see the colors, purple and dark teal... very nice. the rainy weather seems to have broken a bit, we're getting some partly sunny days now... hopefully that will translate into more photo ops!
