some bald eagles i caught today with my FZ20... one o' these days, when i get me a DSLR, i'll be able to do shots like this justice!.

Wow!! Those are some great shots..... The exposure and detail are perfect. Not sure you can do much better with a DSLR. I'm very impressed!

thanks for all the kind words, everyone. my comment about the DSLR was simply because these shots needed some NR processing that wouldn't have been required with a DSLR; i don't know of many SLR lenses that will do better than this one, though!

the eagles were sitting in a tree about 25 yardsfrom the roadside. one was at the very top, maybe 40 feet off the ground, the other on a dead branch about 20 feet up.

Very nice shots no matter what camera was used. The camera is only a good as the person operating it. I've taken nice shots with an old Olympus 2 megapixel 2040, and I've taken numerous (lots and lots) terrible pics with a D70. We live and learn. Enjoyment is the key. My 2 cents. Woody
