I just got my 20D and I am trying to get a feel for how to work it.

Here is a few pictures I took through my back window. Please let me know what I might do to improve.

RP,

If the Cardinal pic is truly one of your firsts, then I can't wait to see number one thousand. Very nice.

RP33,
Very good for your first pictures. Love the composition of the first shot. You might want to try a SLIGHT closer crop with less tree so you get more bird detail. Either way the shot works. The second shot is excellent but try to avoid getting the feeder in the shot. By placing a false branch next to the feeder as an alternative landing point makes for a more natural composition. I'd also suggest getting a good noise reduction program to improve your images. All digital cameras produce some noise so this would be a good tool to have around. May I suggest Neat image. They have a free demo at http://www.neatimage.com/. I ran your last shot through Neat Image to give you an example. I hope you don't mind me doing this but I want to show you the difference.
Have fun with your new Camera!

I purchased the EF75-300mm lens to learn the camera with. I hope to get more lenses after a while of getting use to the camera.

Thank you for your comments
