WOW!!!! This is such a beautiful bird and you've really captured his beauty. How close were you? I have only been able to capture this bird at a distance as it seems pretty skiddish. Great job.

Thanks all. Linda, I was about twenty feet from the first one and about ten from the second. These were shot from a fixed bird blind that has some suet and peanuts put out to attract the birds in. Jake, this bird as an adult has that bright orange head. It is quite striking compared to most we have around here. The female has a white patch on her head between the orange.

That second shot is stunning Mullen....

Here in Brooklyn of course, we can't use suet, $10's and $20's is the only thing that attracts these guys...:O
