Thanks kman and Paul - yes it is a bottle brush of sorts, not sure if it is an acacia [not an SA acacia anyway]. thanks for looking in - Paul, aladyforty [Julie] has from time to time posted shots of the Australian "siver-eyes" which seem very similar to these. any ideas ??

Thanks JakeTPeggfor your reply... aha, glad to hear I was right about it being a bottle brush bush (not really a tree, is it?!) I don't know of the "silver eyes" birds... but maybe aladyforty (Julie) from Albany will help us out if she sees this post!

Great shots. Love the first one because the seed podsf frame the little guy so well.

Yes they are very much like our Silver eye.
