It's that time of year when flowers bloom, leaves bust out, and, er, well, all sorts of living creatures have their day in the sun...

I came across this scene recently in which the two male mallards, obviously full of pent up tension of the first kind, were doing something about it. To be honest, the female did not seem all that pleased from my vantage point. Nevertheless, nature did take its course and I really do not know which male won out!

Due to the frenzied action the image is not quite as sharp as I would have liked but it will have to do.

20D, 70-200/4L @ 200, 1/400 @ f6.3, ISO 200

(Yes, I could have gotten a higher shutter for this action but things happened too quickly to adjust)
