A couple from the Big Paddock, Queensland, Australia. Taken with Canon 70 - 200L 20D, @ISO 800 F4. Taken from a new bird hide, subject distance 2 meters, camera wrapped in carpet underlay and towels to reduce mechanical noise from shutter/mirror.

These are sich WONDERFUL shots:!::!:

As an experiment, I lowered the saturation until it was less that perfect, and then using the levels command of PS, darkened the image, which restored the color, but left a lot of detail which these intense colors destroyed. Try it.

lovely shots, the first one is great. We dont get the rainbow lorikeet over here in the west much to my dismay.

Yup, the Aussie's have the edge on the birds!

Well, at least we have the bald eagle here in the good old US.
