I got an hour of free time at work yesterday so chose to walk into the bush at my lunch stop on my courier run. The birds In Jerramungup are different than the one at home a few hundred ks down the road. I got a couple of shots of the babbler last year but they were blurry so I was pleased to have caught these shots. They were nest building. Iwas reading that these little guys are a threatened species.

And he seems to be working hard...

Nice shots of this guy. I hope he has retirement benefits.

And where do you Australians come up with the names?

"Honey Dipper?"

In the US, a "honey dipper" is the guy who cleans out septic tanks...:G

Nice catch on the nest building activity. Aside from the colors and markings, it reminds me of our Mockingbird.

Good work Julie. Are gas prices high where you are? We've just been nailed to the cross with huge hikes. (religious oil and gas execs...Easter is here after all)

what are you paying Ken, we are paying the $5.60 austa gallon = to Canadian$4.74 a gallon.

Our fuel bill each day for our courier run is 76.00 dollars canadian a day and the monthly fuel bill is $1694.00 canadian. It is eating into our wages badly.
