Caught this little guy taking a bath at the edge of the swimming pool whilst on vacation in Mauritius recently...

Shot in a hurry on a Canon 350D at the default "Action" settings: f10.0,1/500sec, ISO400, 200mm

Hmm. You should have left the other version up as a comparison. Ok, from memory (I'm a bit hungover from partying with an outlaw band of chickadee's at the beach) The previous version was smaller, with the bird more to the right - i.e. centered.

Normally I recomend, as a rule of thumb, to leave MORE space in the direction the bird is facing. But this seems to be balanced by the water spraying out behind and above the bird. So it works - But I would still recomend, leaving a bit more space in the direction the little lush is looking. (So, once again proving that rules are meant to be broken)

Finally, keep in mind, that ultimately pictures get printed, and this version works better on the net than on paper. You're blowing it UP for the net, whereas the previous size of the crop, if not the rest of my advice, was large enough for a print.
