By no means great photographs, I'm posting this to demonstrate the power of the Swarovski AT 80 HD, with the 1100mm adapter. (Maybe I should get a job for them?)

I spotted this tree, almost a mile away. There was a strange looking bump on the naked branches, but even with my Hubble, I just wasn't completely sure it was a Hawk. But I knew when I got home, I would be able to tell...:?:

Of course, when I looked back a half hour later, the "bump" was gone. Looking at the image, it's quite clear that this is a Hawk, and later on processing this, I did a close crop.

With the 1100mm adapter, I have a 22 power magnification...

And of course, the D2x, puts 12 million pixels on target. That don't hoit either....

In the first shot my map tells me that where the hawk is, is a bit over a mile. A rough estimate would be to multiply the apparent distance by 22. It looks about a 100 yards off, so by this method, 6600 feet. But around a mile would be an accurate statement...

So, I'M impressed...
