So, I'm walking in my favorite marine Marsh, climbing a sand dune, and start shooting a Mockingbird, when a Brown Thrasher comes along, and starts to sing, and then I look around and there's this reallly profound thinking Common Grackle, and as I shoot him, a nice young lady Boat Grackle lands on the other side....

All I can say is that my Chicken suit disguise and Chato's disguise as a White Beaver, seem to be working well...

(I think the Grackle has the wieght of the world on his shoulders and people hear should send him money to help him out. Just stff an envelope in cash and send it to me, and I'll be sure to pass it on....)

Excellent shots! I'd send some money to the poor Grackle, but I've got my own Grackles to support!

Good shots! I think Brown Thrashers are about as cool a bird as their is.. I mean being able to mimic other birds like they do.

I don't think they mimic other birds. Certainly this one didn't. They have a very LARGE repetoire of their own music...:blah:

The Mockingbird on the other hand, doesn't cary that name for no reason....

Well Dave...I guess you felt like a kid in a candy store:-)

Brown Thrasher has 2,000 of it's own tunes??? That would be a lot to remember.:?

Yeah, a few days later I found one, and when I had a hard time taking shots, Chato and I said, "what the hell," and we both sat down and listened. They don't repeat themnselves that often. A real pleasure to listen and watch this big guy sing! It's been a good year for them out here. I always see some - But this year they are pretty numerous.
