Yesterday evening, I got lucky with being at the right place at the right time. BB really helped with these side lit shots.







Almost full-frame. 30D, 400mm f5.6 with 1.4xTC. Hand held from car as a blind.

You must have your car turned off I assume? as cars vibrate when turned on and your pics look great... again! :-)

Thanks everyone and yes, the engine was off. Usually these guys/gals along with the orioles hang high up in the tree tops, only coming down to feed or gather stuff for their nests.

Pretty bird and very nice shots. Flycatchers in general are pretty.

Couple of questions.....

1. On these,what did you do as far as PP?

2.If you HAD to choose, would you take the 400mm prime OR 100-400L for most of your bird pics.? Taking into account there is a trade off either way.
