This is another bird I've never seen before this week - or if I had, it was when it was soaring overhead and wasn't identifiable. These little guys make it up to our locale to nest from Central America and Mexico, so my bird book says. It was a real treat to see them perched on a limb. Being another dull day for shooting, I was lucky to get a few decent shots......cheers......Don.

These are great shots of the Violet Green Swallow. I've seen one just once but could not get close enough for a shot. These birds are beautiful especially if you can get the back and wing in the shot.

Thanks Houston, Kent, Tazzie and Bob. I'd never seen one of these before either. Kent- I've added a shot of this little fellow showing more of his back. It's a subtle mix of green and blue...cheers......Don.

I've never seen them either. They don't come out here

But all Swallows look handsome, this guy actually looks regal.

What stunning pictures, so different from our swallows here in UK, its great to be able to see other varieties here, thank you.
