I use the Tamron 200-500. I believe it is a great value for the money. It only opens up to F-6.3 at 500, and maybe isn't quite as sharp as the more expensive lenses wide open but is very sharp at F-8. It has a minimum focus distance of 8 feet and is light enough to hand hold. I'm very happy with it for what I paid for it.
