No one ever comments on my images, are they really that bad? If so what can I do to improve them? I am using a Canon S2IS

Thanks
Jeff

Jeff. that's a great shot. Crisp, well framed. My only comment as to quality would be that there seems to be something off about the white balance. It looks a little on the pink side. Other than that, I think it's a very nice shot.
Keep em coming.

Yes, a very nice shot, and on my monitor is also looks like it has a magenta cast. I could probably also be darkened throughout - but just a bit.

Jeff:
I agree with the previous comment however I was wondering if the image was not overexposed? I'm not familiar with the camera but can you set the setting to underexpose 1 stop. Also you can use software such as paint shop pro to change the brightness. I took your image and underexposed it using the software. Let me know if you think it helps. As for comments on your photos I find that sometimes it is a two way street - the more I comment the more comments I receive. Seems fair enough. But we all need a little encouragement from time to time.
Good luck with it!!

Thank you,

Now I have learned something. I took your advice and it looks much better.

Maybe to dark now?

Thanks again,
Jeff

That looks good. Nice crisp shot. Maybe a little dark, but the white balance is better than the original. I too saw magenta pink. You might need to calibrate your monitor if your colours are a bit off..........Don.

There you go Jeff. A tad dark but much, much better on the white balance.
Keep it up.

It's tough getting a great picture with that harsh afternoon sun coming straight down, I'd try to get out early in the morning or late in the afternoon and take pictures then, you'll be happy you did. As far as nobody responding to your past pics, I just think there are certain people that respond to certain peoples work. I'm ceratinly guilty and biased towards a few people here... DBB, Thekman, KEM, DJB and Squirel to name a few, but these guys do terrific work and take time to constructively criticise/comment on my work as well as others and therefore I feel the same desire to respond to them. Hope you keep posting pics, I'll keep an eye out for your work... or is it play it's so much fun?
