I shot these at F11 from the car window. I was able to get quite close.

Wonderful pictures, you are soo lucky to have the chance of capturing this birds :-)

I played a little bit with one of yours, I tried to make it look a little bit better, hope you don't mind...

Thanks everyone. This was one angry hawk. The nest was a short distance away and if I tried to leave the car they would attack me. I was able to get a couple of flight shots by crouching in front of the car!

I like the 6th one from the top most.Watching the picture, one spontaneously thinks of how the hawk flaps its wings, glides in the air and soars whiletraversing across the sky.

What was the range of the telephoto lensfor taking the shots?
