Thanks guys, it's an F8 world that I live in! It seems to be about the sharpest on the 80-400mm Nikkor I'm using.... I usually shoot Iso 200-400 depending on light conditions and bird movement.

No offence, are you doing any PP on the DOF. I'm gonna have to rob a fake bank and get some fake money and get a decent lens.

No offense taken at all, you seem very genuine to me. :-) Some lenses just perform better in the DOF arena and I'm wide open and getting these results from the lens solely. I do PP in Elements 4.0, but only a little with shadows and highlights and USM and cropping. Thanks for the compliments, always appreciated as is any CC. :idea:

I have to echo the previous comments, exceptionally sharp and wonderful capture of this colourful bird. These are field guide quality!!
