I posted this in the Reflections challenge but didn't get much response. This is a low key shot and I didn't follow the rule for low key shots. Consequently, it is overexposed. The can is coal black and very shiny.

Go for it.......or not!

I liked this one. The only thing I did was copy to new layer the garbage can (after feathering the selection) and blur the background and sharpen the can itself. It's a nice photo but I thought if the can stood out a little more, we'd see more of you and less of the grass. The photo itself really didn't need anything but I can't resist a good tweak now and again! :-)

Just some contrast enhancement.

So far, I like Ferny's treatment the best. But, Oh Gawd, it shows how fat I am.:lol:

LOL - calr, didn't you ever hear the old addage that "the camera adds 10 pounds and photographing yourself as a reflection in a convex surface adds 1.5x the spherical projection?" I also prefer ferny's.

I've wanted to ask, is your sheltie's (collie?) fur as soft as it looks, as soft as I remember a sheltie's is? My huskie may as well be a brillo pad or sheep. :-)I love her anyway - it's just more enjoyable to pull those massive chunks of shedding fur out than it is to stroke her except for the muzzle and ears.

You've got a huskie?

I took a quick try at it. I am just getting started in this as a hobby. Let me know what you think.

Olympus, it is interesting what you have done with the grass. It appears that you have tiled a pattern there. It eliminates the hi-lites of the sun but looks a little like Astro-Turf! However, it is a good try. I never thought of addressing the grass to improve the picture.

Monkey, Annie is a 13-month old Sheltie. Her coat is soft but a little bit dull. We need to supplement her food with some oil. I used to know of some good brands but can't find them any more. There was one called "Linatone" and another one made by "Mr. Groom" a supplier of products to professional breeders.
