The photo is IMO more interesting if we don't see all of the image in this case, and move the points of interests to roughly "1/3'rds".

First of all, welcome to the forum! And you are right. This is very attractive. The lines flow through the photo and the rest of the pic is implied and our eye fills it in anyway. Nice treatment! :-)
