Hi Elliot,
That's a very low res image for anyone to work on, and I doubt anyone will be able to get much improvement. Is it possible you could scan it at much higher resolution, and maybe post it here up to approx 250 Kb/s, or better still link to the higher res pic on some other site. The more resolution the better. ... Jack.

Here is the link to the picture (higher res): http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ent=steves.jpg

OK Elliot,
That should be a little better, you've got to give us something to work with. Will have a looksee how that one goes. ... Jack

OK Elliot,
I'm afraid there just isn't enough res to get a good restoration, so I've concentrated on the facial area. I've cleaned that up and smoothed out a lot of noise etc., it's far from perfect, but I feel at lot more time could be spent for not too much improvement. ... Jack.

You may prefer something like this to hide the background more. ... Jack.

Thanks for trying!

Elliott is there a problem scanning the original at 300 dpi?

ELC Sep 23, 2007 12:54 PM

The original picture is a wallet size and trying to blow it up to 300 dpiwould really take out the detail considering its already an old picture as I have tried to take it up to 300 andtook it backto the low resolution to see what I could do but I appreciate what you could do to the picture despite the size.

I suggest you rescan the photo at 300% and also at 300 dpi. Im sure then there might be something to work from. Jachol has done a decent job considering what he had to work from.
