the leaf can be cloned out, it would take time to do it and make it look correct, but there are 2 more things to sort out, the bigger dragon fly will need a leg of antena sorting out, while the smaller one needs a wing and some antenas at least, making the job that much harder, and it need to look correct as its a macro

Hi,
Not an easy one by any means, I've had a fairly quick attempt ... doubt I could do much better if I took more time. It needs very careful cloning, and some imagination since the original dead leaf hid a lot of details. What do you think ?.

wow, That looks great! You make it look easy, how was it done?

Hi Rob,
I did this in PSCS ... basically I selected the dead leaf and deleted it then replaced the defocussed background with the clone stamp tool, sampling often from various parts of the intact back ground, this can be done pretty quickly, since there is little detail, to reconstruct the leaf in detail, you have to carefully sample and place leaf edges an markings etc., eventually it's just a tidyup job. I've done a little more cosmetic clean-up, sometimes it's hard to know when to stop. ... Jack

You're welcome Rob. Cloning work is largely patience, remember there's always the history palette if you screw up, assuminng you have PS. Let us know how you go ... Jack
